Why the (electrical ;)) cargo bike the new object all the cool parents should have?

Since we are all rushing during the morning we are always trying to find ways to move faster without fighting with our little ones who always have a good excuse to stop, go slowly, take their time to look around or even sit on the street. Taking the car with the traffic is sometimes worst (and definitely not green), going by motorbike is not an option, and riding your own bike neither (anymore). So we found the solution which reconciliates everyone. Why not using a cargo bike?

These bikes, electrical or not, have been well thought to reconciliate everyone with the journey home-school/nursery. We love them because they are not polluting while helping you saving some minutes commuting. And since they are smaller than a car you won’t be stucked in the traffic. This hipster trendy object will also be loved by your kids. They will enjoy being seated in their dedicated space, laughing while going fast, commenting while stopped at the red light (you know).

What app/website to use to print our photos?

When it comes to print our family photos we have plenty of choice so we wanted to share with you the apps and website we like to use. Regarding the apps we are talking about Lalalab and Cheerz.
They are really similar in terms of products they offer. We love them because we can print our photos in a cool vintage style. But not only, we can also create photo books and calendars in only few minutes and we can print magnets if we are looking for a gift. Both are really easy to use since you can access your phone photos directly through the apps.

There is another website we love to use to create original photo gift: Boomf! This website is great because it allows us to print photos on marshmallow. And we love the concept. You can now also print your photos on chocolates! A great idea to keep in mind for Easter next year.

Babymoon: why is it right for us!

Have you heard about the babymoon concept ? It refers to the last “just the two of us” moment all the expecting parents should experience before the birth of their child. At Mylowonders we love this idea! And you can actually do a babymoon even when you are already parents. It just requires to have someone looking after your kid(s) while you go on babymoon.

First and foremost being parents generally also means being a couple! And this is why it’s very important to remember this before welcoming a newborn in our lives.

The later you wait the more you will enjoy it (thinking “it’s the last weekend just the two of us for a long time). However the closest you are to the due date the less adventurer you will be. I would recommend to go on your babymoon between your 33th and 36th weeks of pregnancy.

No matter how long you are going for (It can last a week or a weekend, you decide) the objective is to make the most of this precious time being together.

Where to go and what to do on babymoon?
Here are some options we totally love.

A hippie road trip in a van:
We know that the car is not very recommended while being pregnant. However when taking some precautions it is not forbidden at all. Wherever you might live you should be able to find a road trip close enough as you may favour short distance over long ones. You could for instance limit the driving part to one hour per day and stop to enjoy the landscapes. This option is feasible wherever you live! But if you are lucky enough to live near the following ones you will be confident you will enjoy your trip! Some examples:
Visit Kent if you live in London
Visit the South West region of France if you live near by.
Enjoy the Californian roads if you are around
And the list is still long (Scotland, the Netherlands etc.)
Be well prepared:
-Hire the most comfortable campervan to take care of your back
-Make sure you know where the closest hospitals are during your trip
-don’t forget to bring your pregnancy book
-Make sure you can easily find help in case anything happens with the van
-Bring a nice SLR camera / go pro to immortalise the trip


Stay in a hotel-spa:
Go in the country side and enjoy a spa break. It is now time to take care of yourself. This option is also one we really like. Just take time for you, have a/few massage, enjoy a nice food and come back prepared and relaxed to experience a new life. Several hotels offer babymoon. We already talked about Chewton Glenn, their babymoon is a really nice one to experience.

Enjoy a city-break:
Find a nice city you would like to visit and enjoy being just “in a different area”. The advantage in staying in a city is that you will easily find a nice and comfortable hotel to stay in and rest, while being in a different place and still having an hospital not far if needed.

Taking your baby on an aeroplane

Despite this beautiful sunny summer over here you might have already planned your holiday abroad to get 100% guaranteed sun. But for that, you need to take the plane. The time where you could travel the world with regular sized luggage and your handbag is long gone. Now you have a baby. We know what it means and we know that no matter how well you have prepared this, it is not going to go all as expected. Children are indeed highly unpredictable.

But do not worry anymore, for having travelled more than 10 times with our under 2s (touch wood it went very well so far) there are few tips we can share:

Choose the right time for your flight
If you are planning for a long flight the best time to travel will probably be night time. There is no rule but there are definitely more chance your baby will sleep on the plane if you are flying during the night.
For the short trips we’ve tend to travel around nap time. Again you will appreciate your baby to sleep for an hour (and he/she will too) on a two hours or three hours flight.

Make sure you have everything accessible from your seat
-Toys because you might need to distract them for hours and hours… think about your neighbours, avoid bringing noisy toys
-Food because as small as they can be, we all know that a hungry baby can really make his/her voice heard.
-books: another item perfect to distract them in a quiet way.
-and all the basics: nappies, changing clothes … because we know IT will happen

Do not hesitate to give your baby a bottle or the dummy if she/he has one while taking-off and landing to avoid the sensation of blocked ears.


Forget some of your principles
Principles are great but quiet moments while traveling are even better. Be flexible and forget about some of your principles. If you don’t want your baby to snack but a crisis is starting because he/she is hungry while on the plane you might want to revise your principle. Again care about the others if it’s not a big issue for your baby.

And the more you will forget about your principles the more you will be willing to travel because you would have appreciated the quiet aeroplane trips.

Finally be relaxed yourselves. Some passengers are worried but some others are actually very comprehensive. The more relaxed you are the more relaxed your baby will be.

Meet Hello Hossy® founders

What is Hello Hossy®?

Hello Hossy® is a brand of nice, punchy, full of colours, original and trendy caps for our babies and kids. Caps that both kids and parents like. It’s the first brand to focus 100% on designing stylish caps from 9months until 6 years old.

How the idea to launch this brand arose?

When our baby was born. It is not always easy to find cool accessories for kids. Whereas for adults we have plenty of choice. Caps are a good example: there are plenty for adults but for kids choice is limited. It was thus interesting to launch a cool accessory which differentiates from what we use to see in kids fashion. On the other hand we wanted to launch a family business altogether including both parents and our little one.

What differentiates you from the other caps brands?

Our prints. They are nice, modern and welcoming. Our story: a family story. Lots of parents buy Hello Hossy® because they like our story, what we are doing/trying to do, and like the idea of running a family business.

In real life are you more cool parents our bear parents?

Both!

A principle you had before becoming parents which has quickly disappeared ?

Hard to say. To be honest we don’t have principles. We follow our feelings and adapt to our little one’s needs. Each day is a new adventure full of surprises, smiles, cries (of course), sharing and lots of happiness.

Any advice for someone who would like to start his/her business?

Enjoy what you do! Be passionate about your idea to make it real the best way possible. There is not a unique right way to execute, just “try and learn”. You need to try, bounce back, persist, continue. At the end it is what our kids are doing everyday. They try, accept challenges, fall down, stand up, start again… this is the way they grow up.
